#ThrowbackThursday in Celebration of National Skilled Nursing Care Week!

It was a significant operation which included 4 surgeries in a 1 week period which resulted in a below the knee amputation. I was transferred to Medilodge of Leelanau based on local advice. The admission team was very through, educational and sensitive to my mental condition and developing needs. They explained all the amenities of the facility and the activities to expect during my rehabilitation. Staff from each discipline was very through and very interested in my case to better support me and my recovery and adapted to my personal needs on a 24 hour basis. Pain management was optimized daily, and I became pain free and sleeping through the night very quickly. During my occupational and physical therapy I was able to maintain a flexible scheduled so that I could manage personal work related activities. After a 2 week period from admission I will be discharged with confidence and the skill-sets to be self-sufficient and have maximum mobility. I felt totally comfortable with leaving personal possessions in my room based on my relationships I established initially. I would highly recommend Medilodge of Leelanau to anyone needing skilled nursing care.

If you are looking for a place that offers reliability, comfort, security, and wonderful service for you or a loved one, this would be the number 1 choice in the Traverse City area. I received quality care, quality food in a beautiful environment. This place meant all my needs from medical care, to emotional and social in just the short time I was here for rehab. When I am no longer to stay at home, I know where I will spend my day when I need 24 hour assistance. The opportunity to interact with staff and residents was a great experience. The Activities Department provided an array of activities that really helps the residents get up and going and gets them involved with their environment.  This helped me in my rehab process to feel included and feel needed. The therapy department were my biggest cheerleaders with the upmost professionalism. Watching the different ways that they engaged residents and keep them moving and helping them reach their goals was unbelievable. I was able to accomplish my goals set forth by my therapy team to be able to finally go home.

Whether it's lying down in a clean bed at night or getting a hot meal, MediLodge is doing a great job. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make us happy

I have been at MediLodge of Leelanau for 10 weeks. All of the staff have blown me away. They are all so confident, caring and friendly. Whoever picks the staff does a great job! The therapy team was great, caring and very helpful. Everyone was motivational, gave me confidence, and was very patient with me.

I have enjoyed my stay at MediLodge of Leelanau. The nurses, CNA's, and management have been very friendly and kind. The staff was always working hard to provide great care. The food was good with many other alternative options available, which made me happy. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for long-term or short-term care.

I was recommended by my physical therapist in Petoskey to come to MediLodge of Leelanau for my rehab needs after my accident. I am very happy to report complete satisfaction with the whole system from admission to discharge. Nancy, Debra, and Cheryl, my nurses, and all of the CNAs, especially Liz and Barb, provided excellent care and cared about me! Showing that you cared was so important for me and my rehabilitation. I was very impressed with all the activities offered. Lena is very good at her job, and she is everywhere all the time. Also, the whole PT-OT department was excellent too. They all have really helped with my progress.

It was a pleasure being at MediLodge of Leelanau. The staff were very professional and cared about my feelings, as well as my physical well-being. The therapy staff were so understanding and took all of my interests to heart. I really enjoyed being here!

Lena is the Life Enrichment Director of MediLodge of Leelanau. I think of her in a t-shirt that says, “not on my watch.” We are in over three months without anyone getting the virus. The outside world is not allowed in. All of the staff, nurses, CNA’s, doctors, housekeepers, and maintenance have come together to make this a safer place. I believe Lena is responsible for all of the compassion, and she cares so deeply for everyone here. She is my hero. The rehab department is wonderful.
