New CNA at MediLodge of Leelanau!

I was recommended by my physical therapist in Petoskey to come to MediLodge of Leelanau for my rehab needs after my accident. I am very happy to report complete satisfaction with the whole system from admission to discharge. Nancy, Debra, and Cheryl, my nurses, and all of the CNAs, especially Liz and Barb, provided excellent care and cared about me! Showing that you cared was so important for me and my rehabilitation. I was very impressed with all the activities offered. Lena is very good at her job, and she is everywhere all the time. Also, the whole PT-OT department was excellent too. They all have really helped with my progress.

After a very bad fall at our winter home in Mesa Arizona, and a ten-day hospital stay, I was eager to return to Leelanau country for medical care. We boarded the airplane in Phoenix on May 3rd, at 7:00 am for Michigan with my husband, grandson and oldest daughter. After 20 hours of travel time, we finally reached our destination at 3:00 am on May 4th with a wonderful greeting at the front entrance of MediLodge by familiar happy faces. My care has been excellent, especially with all the major changes that are proceeding forward. I appreciate the healthcare facility and the employees of which many I know personally and encouraged education along life’s journey. During my 66 years in the nursing profession, working at Leelanau Memorial Hospital and Leelanau Clinic, it has been a great pleasure. My progress is remarkable and made possible at Medilodge by the persistent therapy department and wonderful nursing team. We must have changes in our daily life to see progress and be ready to help one another whenever possible. I look forward to going home and with Thanks to MediLodge of Leelanau for wonderful caring and compassionate employees.

From the admission process and the initial tour with the administrator, everyone was very gracious with us and helped us understand what to expect and really helped ease our fears with this difficult decision. Throughout Tom's stay, as the challenges came, everyone was great at giving us the appropriate information to both to help guide us and help us not miss any opportunity to care for my husband. The care he received was exceptional. The C.N.A's and nurses were sincere and personal and everything they did for Tom and our family was above and beyond what we had expected. As Tom drew closer to passing, staff were considerate of noise, environment, appropriate in their approach, and very gentle and caring, making this difficult time into a beautiful moment. We went into the process with such an expectation of difficulty, but after Tom passed and we left, we found ourselves missing the staff and residents as we reflected on what we have come to see as a very unexpected blessing. The utmost respect and dignity was offered our family all the way up to the time Tom was prepared and taken out of the building by the funeral home. We were so moved by the whole experience. We would highly recommend the Medilodge of Leelanau to anyone in a season of life who would require this type of care.

It was a significant operation which included 4 surgeries in a 1 week period which resulted in a below the knee amputation. I was transferred to Medilodge of Leelanau based on local advice. The admission team was very through, educational and sensitive to my mental condition and developing needs. They explained all the amenities of the facility and the activities to expect during my rehabilitation. Staff from each discipline was very through and very interested in my case to better support me and my recovery and adapted to my personal needs on a 24 hour basis. Pain management was optimized daily, and I became pain free and sleeping through the night very quickly. During my occupational and physical therapy I was able to maintain a flexible scheduled so that I could manage personal work related activities. After a 2 week period from admission I will be discharged with confidence and the skill-sets to be self-sufficient and have maximum mobility. I felt totally comfortable with leaving personal possessions in my room based on my relationships I established initially. I would highly recommend Medilodge of Leelanau to anyone needing skilled nursing care.

I had a very good stay at MediLodge of Leelanau. Everyone was so nice and treated me very well. I came here to do some therapy to get better and stronger, and the therapy team did an excellent job helping me achieve my goal so I can go back home. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

I choose Medilodge of Leelanau for my rehab needs because I have heard good things about them and it was recommended to me from a friend. The entire team was excellent, but especially the rehab team. Ramil and Tiffany pushed me to work hard to achieve my goals. They do their job right.

"I would like to thank the staff at Leelanau Health Center for the excellent care given to my mother, Gail Smith, this past summer. She was at Leelanau Health Center from July through September 2007. Mom needed skilled nursing care, which Leelanau Health Center in Suttons Bay, MI was able to supply. What impressed me, was not just the medical care and therapy, which were first rate. The gentle kindness, and willingness to be accommodating to my mother and family members during a very stressful time, was outstanding and appreciated. An example of this was the Social Worker taking a personal interest in making sure Mom was able to listen to the Harry Potter book on tape she was given. The nurses and aides were kind and professional. Mom was unable to move on her own, but the nurses and aides were patient and always willing to take the time to meet mom's needs. Similarly, the therapists were kind and encouraging coaches who refused to take "I can't" for an answer. Overall, it was the little things that made the stay successful for Mom. We are grateful that Mom had the opportunity to be in such a supporting atmosphere while she began her healing process."

We were so fortunate to have Mom at Medilodge of Leelanau and under such great care. Mom loved the staff and environment. She touched so many lives, leaving a lasting memory. She was a ray of sunshine.
