My stay at MediLodge of Leelanau was very enjoyable. The staff are absolutely incredible. The therapy team is top notch and the food is very good. I also enjoyed Bengal, the facility cat. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone needing skilled nursing care.

The last 4 months that I have been at MediLodge of Leelanau have been wonderful. The food is 5 star! The therapy team is phenomenal. I have enjoyed my stay at MediLodge of Leelanau. The nurses, CNA's, and management have been very friendly and kind. The staff was always working hard to provide great care. The food was good with many other alternative options available, which made me happy. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for long-term or short-term care.

My husband was a patient at Medilodge for a month of rehab following a hospital stay. The staff was extremely caring and attentive to all of his needs—both physical and mental. My husband has Parkinson’s Disease and the nurses were very diligent in giving him his medications on time.

A physical therapist worked with him at least once and sometimes twice a day which strengthened his upper body and helped him regain his mobility. He also received quality care from an occupational therapist and speech therapist. Trevor, one the certified nursing assistants, bonded with him and brought joy to what otherwise could be considered difficult or menial tasks.

The facility was very clean and comfortable. His meals were balanced and good. We live an hour from Suttons Bay, and I never once worried if he was getting his meds or having his needs met.

When we checked out, the staff had already scheduled a follow-up doctor’s appointment and set up home therapy through Munson Home Health Care.

Our family is grateful for the care my husband received while at Medilodge of Leelanau.

"I would like to thank the staff at Leelanau Health Center for the excellent care given to my mother, Gail Smith, this past summer. She was at Leelanau Health Center from July through September 2007. Mom needed skilled nursing care, which Leelanau Health Center in Suttons Bay, MI was able to supply. What impressed me, was not just the medical care and therapy, which were first rate. The gentle kindness, and willingness to be accommodating to my mother and family members during a very stressful time, was outstanding and appreciated. An example of this was the Social Worker taking a personal interest in making sure Mom was able to listen to the Harry Potter book on tape she was given. The nurses and aides were kind and professional. Mom was unable to move on her own, but the nurses and aides were patient and always willing to take the time to meet mom's needs. Similarly, the therapists were kind and encouraging coaches who refused to take "I can't" for an answer. Overall, it was the little things that made the stay successful for Mom. We are grateful that Mom had the opportunity to be in such a supporting atmosphere while she began her healing process."

I had hoped to stay at home until the day I died but realized I needed skilled nursing care to help me regain my independence so I could return home safely. I was unsure at first because I always had the impression that people in nursing homes sat with nothing to do and had nothing to stimulate their mind and make there day pleasant. However, I found that I was wrong. Medilodge of Leelanau was more like home; so bright, clean, and many activities going on to please everyone. Families and friends were there to visit people often. The staff was all delightful and helpful. Something about the team showing interest in each person as an individual and treating them with respect, dignity, and providing genuine care as individuals made this stay a pleasant experience. I want to thank all of the staff at Medilodge of Leelanau for helping me to work hard and regain my independence. I am now on my way back home.

"After my hospitalization, I thought I would never be able to go back home. After six weeks of rehab, I am back on my feet and ready to go."

It was a significant operation which included 4 surgeries in a 1 week period which resulted in a below the knee amputation. I was transferred to Medilodge of Leelanau based on local advice. The admission team was very through, educational and sensitive to my mental condition and developing needs. They explained all the amenities of the facility and the activities to expect during my rehabilitation. Staff from each discipline was very through and very interested in my case to better support me and my recovery and adapted to my personal needs on a 24 hour basis. Pain management was optimized daily, and I became pain free and sleeping through the night very quickly. During my occupational and physical therapy I was able to maintain a flexible scheduled so that I could manage personal work related activities. After a 2 week period from admission I will be discharged with confidence and the skill-sets to be self-sufficient and have maximum mobility. I felt totally comfortable with leaving personal possessions in my room based on my relationships I established initially. I would highly recommend Medilodge of Leelanau to anyone needing skilled nursing care.
