We were so fortunate to have Mom at Medilodge of Leelanau and under such great care. Mom loved the staff and environment. She touched so many lives, leaving a lasting memory. She was a ray of sunshine.

I have never been to a skilled nursing center before and didn’t know they were this nice and well run. I had reservations when I first got here, but upon entering the building I was greeted at the door and the customer services was exceptional all throughout my stay. The food was great (I thought nursing home food would be terrible), the housekeeping department kept up the building so well and my room so clean. I was always offered something to do multiple times a days, and I really enjoyed the music in the dining room while we had lunch. The nursing staff was so prompt and was at my bedside every time I called. I will definitely come back here in the future if I need any therapy or long term care. This place was so well ran and would recommend to anyone.

I knew that I couldn’t go home from the hospital after my injury, so I ended up choosing MediLodge of Leelanau. While I hope I never have to be in a nursing home again, if I had to do it all over, I would say MediLodge of Leelanau was the best spot for me. It was quite the experience and everything went great. They were able to get me back on my feet quickly so that I could get back home.

Our plans are only a thought, when changed in a moment’s time. One fall and both legs were broken, six bones. Suddenly, I was in the hospital undergoing three surgeries. Though my house was already wheelchair accessible, my body was not ready to return home. MediLodge of Leelanau came up as a possibility to receive sometime of rehab. It was close to home, so that was a big seller. My fall came a few weeks prior to Easter and not being able to get together with my family was daunting. That’s when Lena mentioned an available room to gather with my family. They put tables together to hold all 22 of us, complete with tablecloths and a buffet table to hold our food. That was going a step above. It blessed my stay, and I appreciated their going beyond and above. I would recommend MediLodge of Leelanau as a place of rehab to anyone in need. My stay at MediLodge of Leelanau was very enjoyable. The staff are absolutely incredible. The therapy team is top notch and the food is very good. I also enjoyed Bengal, the facility cat. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone needing skilled nursing care.

From the admission process and the initial tour with the administrator, everyone was very gracious with us and helped us understand what to expect and really helped ease our fears with this difficult decision. Throughout Tom's stay, as the challenges came, everyone was great at giving us the appropriate information to both to help guide us and help us not miss any opportunity to care for my husband. The care he received was exceptional. The C.N.A's and nurses were sincere and personal and everything they did for Tom and our family was above and beyond what we had expected. As Tom drew closer to passing, staff were considerate of noise, environment, appropriate in their approach, and very gentle and caring, making this difficult time into a beautiful moment. We went into the process with such an expectation of difficulty, but after Tom passed and we left, we found ourselves missing the staff and residents as we reflected on what we have come to see as a very unexpected blessing. The utmost respect and dignity was offered our family all the way up to the time Tom was prepared and taken out of the building by the funeral home. We were so moved by the whole experience. We would highly recommend the Medilodge of Leelanau to anyone in a season of life who would require this type of care.

"I would like to thank the staff at Leelanau Health Center for the excellent care given to my mother, Gail Smith, this past summer. She was at Leelanau Health Center from July through September 2007. Mom needed skilled nursing care, which Leelanau Health Center in Suttons Bay, MI was able to supply. What impressed me, was not just the medical care and therapy, which were first rate. The gentle kindness, and willingness to be accommodating to my mother and family members during a very stressful time, was outstanding and appreciated. An example of this was the Social Worker taking a personal interest in making sure Mom was able to listen to the Harry Potter book on tape she was given. The nurses and aides were kind and professional. Mom was unable to move on her own, but the nurses and aides were patient and always willing to take the time to meet mom's needs. Similarly, the therapists were kind and encouraging coaches who refused to take "I can't" for an answer. Overall, it was the little things that made the stay successful for Mom. We are grateful that Mom had the opportunity to be in such a supporting atmosphere while she began her healing process."

I enjoyed my stay at MediLodge of Leelanau and I made some new friends there. The staff were great and the therapy was very good!

I so appreciate MediLodge of Leelanau for their care for me while I was here for rehab after surgery. The entire staff was so kind and helpful with anything that I needed. The food was very tasteful and delivered to my room. The therapists were very encouraging and helped me recover and get back some of my strength. To each person that helped make my stay wonderful, sending a prayer of thanks to God...and a note of thanks to you.
