Meet Our New Administrator

Dear Guest, Families, and Friends of MediLodge of Leelanau

My name is Steve Chowen and I would like to introduce myself as the new administrator for the MediLodge of Leelanau Skilled Nursing Center. I started my position with the Center on June 1, 2018. It is my honor and privilege to serve the guests and patients of our beautiful Leelanau Center. It is the mission of MediLodge Centers to create “a haven for healing, fostering recovery, rejuvenation, and revitalization.” It is our team’s goal to provide our guests with the best possible care that embodies individual wellness focused on mind, body, and spirit. If we ever fall short of your expectations for your personal care or the care of your loved one please contact us immediately. Your input helps us focus on making a stay at our center the best it can be.

A little about myself. I was born and raised in northern Michigan in the small town of Onaway. Our family has been in the area since the 1800s and my parents still live in Onaway. My family and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to move back to northern Michigan after a career in the U.S Army where I served as a Medical Service Corps Officer, medic, MEDEVAC pilot and hospital administrator. I have also worked in long term care, home care, and dialysis care since leaving military service. I am married 36 years to m college sweetheart and best friend and we have three lovely adult daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren.

Again it is my honor and privilege to serve those that need our care and assistance. It is my personal philosophy that our patients are at the center of what we do every day and their well-being is our top priority. Please think of our center as Leelanau’s home town center for rehabilitation services and geriatric care. We are building a strong team of caring individuals at MediLodge of Leelanau that will make your loved ones or your personal rehabilitative or extended stay with us the best experience possible.
